The unicorn races
the dragon across the plains.
Dinner is at stake.
Will you dance with me
through stars in the universe
before they go out?
Feel insanity
as the cracked mind slips away
chasing the moonbeams.
Gulped down a black hole,
spat out on the other side
life changes again.
That special morning
your hand held lightly in mine,
the world exploded.
THE FINAL MELODY
While sitting within the mushroom ring
the last elf spoke. "It is not easy.
Who listens now in a world of science?
There remains the harmony to maintain
and I cannot sing the needed songs
to restore a world that doesn't hear.
Will you sing with me the old songs,
the songs that made the flowers bloom,
made the rain fall from the skies?
Who still remembers their harmony?"
Silence surrounded the mushroom ring
as the elf sighed and shed a tear
and began a melody that lingers still.
COMPUTER MANFUNCTION
Computer malfunction
magnified as the computer was human
and went wild.
Poor programming
in the early stages of development.
Abort! Abort!
Self image lost.
Computer malfunction
never corrected. Strains of the humans
flourish upon earth.
Defect in the program
carefully inputted by a beautiful angel.
Abort! Abort!
Only the sin remains.
CHANGES IN LAW
Magician in the wood's stillness listens
as filtered sunlight from the pool glistens.
"Where are you?" He shouts lost upon the road
and from the flowering tree jumps a toad,
leaps forth right into the reflecting pool,
changing the image for the watching fool.
Along the way moved an image I thought I saw.
From the water's spray a spell was released,
the long waiting silence was finally pleased
as transformation prized only by one
occurred the instant the magician won.
A proud different creature now stands upright
sees an image reflecting in the night.
Along the way a moving image changes law.

Loving you madly
in the midst of confusion
I stand in the rain.
I cannot find any shelter for my heart
that beats fuller at your passing thought
as lightning streaks through the wild sky.

circling me with your flow
as the sky quivers.
The quaking thunder shakes the foundations
as the final flow of lightning diminishes,
leaving my heart standing naked and revealed.

trembling inside and beating,
